As seen on Nat's site -- Here's a collection of first lines from my blog - one from the first post of each month in 2005... OK, there are only 12 months, so sue me! 1. January 2005 -- I went and got myself some blog space! Ta Da! (that's my first ever blogging post - what a dork!) 2. February 2005 -- My name's Marie, and I'm a chocoholic. They say the first step in getting over an addiction is admitting that you have a problem. Well, I have no problem admitting that I'm addicted to chocolate. That doesn't seem to help me get over it though. 3. March 2005 -- Splashin' with Seniors 4. April 2005 -- Today is the day we go from a gazillion tv channels to only a handful at our house. And you know what? The changes in our lives from cutting the cable are amazing, already. 5. May 2005 -- I remember when preparing for a weekend roadtrip involved throwing a small bag and some CDs in the car, checking the gas gauge, and putting the pedal to the metal. Those days are long gone. 6. June 2005 -- You'll be glad to know, we'll be letting it all hang out here this evening. I've consulted Dr. Spock to see what he recommends for a painful red bum -- my little guy is having a bout with very, um, loose "movements." 7. July 2005 -- It's so rare that I see a movie in the theater these days, and even more rare that I like one enough to recommend it. However, last night my husband and I went to see Cinderella Man, and we give it 2 big thumbs up. 8. August 2005 -- They Got Me -- It was Monday, August 1st. We were all scurrying around my sister's house doing what needed to be done to begin the day - showering, dressing, feeding children, laughing. 9. September 2005 -- Cake, anyone? Welcome to the party! 10. October 2005 -- Something Fishy I love salmon when it's cooked just right -- moist and tender, without being undercooked; flakey, without being overcooked and tough. 11. November 2005 -- It was a fast and furious Halloween around here! And today, there's not a trace of candy to be seen, which is just as well. 12. December 2005 -- A bowl of soup on a cold day -- Mmmm! Piping hot, scooped from a big ol' pot. I make a lot of homemade soups (lentil, anyone?) in the winter time but always have canned soups on-hand, too, for an easy lunch when I don't have any homemade soup around. Soup is a favorite comfort food for me, and I have many fond childhood memories involving soup. The steam, the smell, the slurping sounds.... 13. Well it's good to see that I've stayed true to my tagline. Have you ever seen such nonsense? You don't have to answer that! Thanks for playing along with me this year! What a neat 13! I don't think your first post was dorky, either. I think we all do that when we finally break down and get a blog - and again when we get our own domain, and again when we get new designs, and again when ... well, you get the idea! It's all good!
Happy Thursday!! :D

I have not watched TV in about 7 years at least and I have to say it is amazing what you could do with no TV, the things you get accomplished. It is wonderful

Hi Marie! Thanks for the visit! What a cool idea! My blogaversary is coming up in Feb so I may have towait until then...
I'm a big advocate of Tivo! Cuts out all the crap and crams 10 hours of tv time into 6..or less depending. I still get my fix and don't have to sit around for so long!! Thank goodness for reruns!! ;0) Happy Thursday!

That IS a fun way to cover the 13! Very entertaining...
And good for you to cut back on your tv programming. We recently did the same thing, and don't miss the ones we cut, but I'd venture to say we still have more than you. tivo rocks.
